In Bitonto, fifteen streets take part in the “My street in bloom” competition – BitontoLive.it

The desire to create beauty and make the ancient center of Bitonto a flowering village has infected everyone. They are well fifteen the streets that took part in the competition launched by the association The streets of flowers led by the president Michele Castellanoand sponsored by Municipality of Bitonto. From Piazzetta Fratelli Bandiera, cross street of Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, up to Corte Santa Lucia, passing through the already renowned Corte della Lucertola, Via Sant’Andrea, to also discover the new entries Via del Sasso, Via Sant’Antuono and Corte Auricarecta, balconies and alleys proudly displayed the number showing their participation in the competition My street in bloom. Many townspeople and citizens, from the oldest to the youngest, have worked at their own expense, creating alternative vases and small artefacts – including bikes, trains, giant hearts, wheels and colored windows – using poor or recycled material, transforming the streets in floral works of art.

To give all citizens the opportunity to enjoy this wonder, the “Le Strade dei Fiori” association has organized a stroll through the fifteen streets, scheduled Friday 10 May at 6pm, starting from Piazzetta Fratelli Bandiera (meeting point Gran bar Conte in Corso Vittorio Emanuele 17). The route will unfold in the following order: Corte Bertani, Arco Galliani, Via Mozzicugno, Via San Giorgio, Corte della Lucertola, San Pietro Nuovo Vico Storto, Via Giacomo Antonio Giannone, Corte De Ilderis, Via Sant’Andrea, Via del Sasso, Val Carceri court, via Sant’Antuono and Mormorio court, Auricarecta court, Santa Lucia court (Traetta theater area).

The route reported here will have a net duration of 27 minutes for one kilometer and 800 meters in length, and is suitable for everyone.

The jury will also be present for the occasion, composed of the mayor Francesco Paolo Ricci, the president of the “Le Strade dei Fiori” association Michele Castellano and representatives of the local media. They will evaluate the creations taking into consideration criteria such as architectural impact, originality, artistic imagination, quantity of plants and love for flowers.

The most beautiful street will be named X Road of Flowers the 11th May, at 5pm, in the Episcopio of the Cathedraland other prizes offered by the competition’s partners and sponsors will be awarded.
