Venezia, on the other hand, won three very important points in excellent direct promotion by beating a direct opponent like Cremonese.
Pisa-Catanzaro 2-2: Moreo and Marin take it back
The Pisa with all their heart manages to find an unexpected draw. The Tuscans, trailing by two goals in the final, overcame Catanzaro who appeared to be defeated in the second half. The match has just begun and Catanzaro immediately finds the lead with Pontisso who finds the winning shot from a corner kick after a good serve from Vandeputte. Pisa’s reaction arrives and forces the Calabrians onto the defensive, the Tuscans push and come close to equalizing several times but end the first 45 minutes one goal down. In the second half Pisa continues its push but is exposed to a counterattack by Catanzaro who finds the ball in the 63rd minute doubling goal scored by Ambrosino. The Tuscans, however, did not give up and in the 74th minute Moreo finds the goal that reopens the match and makes the finale incandescent. 7 minutes pass and the goal arrives equalizer scored by Marin.
Venezia-Cremonese 2-1: Bjarkason decisive
Great test of character for Venezia who advance their candidacy for direct promotion by overcoming an excellent Cremonese team. The game started with great tension and balance on both fronts. Physical and tactical match with an episode that unlocks the lead in the 24th minute thanks to Vazquez who takes advantage of Pickel’s header to score Cremonese’s opening goal. The lagoon players try to react but in the first half they struggle to find space against the grey-red defence. In the second half, however, the match immediately changed with Venezia who with Gytkjaer found the equalizer with a millimeter low shot. The hosts took control of the match and also found the opening goal with Bjarkason who made perfect use of a passer from Busio and beat Saro.
