False deeds for Covid bonuses, convicted – Teramo

TERAMO. The 9-month sentence at first instance came after a long investigation during which various witnesses were heard and the accused himself who, during a hearing, admitted that he had made a mistake in presenting the documentation at the end of the accusation.
The honorary court judge Belinda Pignotti sentenced SB, a 59-year-old commercial expert and accounting consultant, to nine months for material falsehood committed by a private individual. According to the Public Prosecution (represented in the courtroom by the vpo Ugo Marini) in 2020 the professional would have presented inaccurate documentation to the Revenue Agency to ensure that three clients obtained the 600 euro Covid bonus granted at the time of the pandemic to some categories of workers. Thus we read in the charge: «In order to obtain the so-called “cura Italia” bonus, he presented to the competent office of the Revenue Agency artificial documentation or tax returns of the three clients (preliminary to obtaining the bonus) with references to the tax years 2017 and 2018 showing receipts of transmissions made respectively with falsified dates of 2010.2018 and 2011.2019 when in fact they had been transmitted or rather had been filed late or only on 19.07.2020 when requested by the assessing body”. The man was also convicted of abusive practice of the profession because, as we read in the indictment, «despite not being registered in the professional register of accountants as he had spontaneously requested and obtained dismissal, he continued to practice functions as commercial expert, accountant”. During the investigation it emerged that the three clients had all the requirements to receive the bonus then granted. The man was assisted by his lawyer Barbara Castiglione. (dp)
