From 25 to 28 April, Montesilvano becomes the venue of the prestigious ANM National 8-a-side football tournament, organized on the fields of the Vestina sports centre, located in the Adriatic city of Pescara.
This event is promoted by the National Association of Magistrates (ANM) and will see the participation of 13 teams from all over Italy.
The teams represent regions and cities such as Abruzzo, Cagliari, Catania, Catanzaro, MarchEmilia, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Puglia-Messina, Reggio Calabria, Rome, Salerno and Turin, guaranteeing a high level tournament and great sportsmanship.
Among the prominent players, Manfredi Borsellino, son of the famous magistrate Paolo Borsellino, and the Carabinieri Colonel Filippo Barreca, play for the ANM team of Palermo.
The presence of these players makes the tournament particularly significant, continuing to celebrate the legacy of magistrates Falcone and Borsellino, heroes in the fight against the mafia.
The Palermo team’s shirt also pays homage to the two magistrates with their iconic image. In the opening match, the Palermo team defeated the Salerno team 1-0, with a goal from Hamel in the 19th minute.
