Piero Fassino was seen putting a designer perfume worth 130 eurosstolen from the shelves of the duty free shop at Fiumicino airport.
The deputy, caught by the surveillance staff, justified himself by reporting the gesture of putting the cosmetic in the pocket of a distraction.

Fassino stated that he had received a phone call and, in the act of answering while carrying the trolley with the other hand, that he had inadvertently put perfume in the jacket.
In the video from the surveillance cameras, however, no telephone appears and the politician’s version does not seem true.

During the investigation, Fiumicino police officers listened to the testimonials from airport staff (not those of the accused, protected by parliamentary immunity).
And from such testimonies it appears to be a precedent emergeda first attempted theft for which Fassino would not have been stopped.
And it would have been precisely because of this first occasion that the security guards, who filed the complaint, were monitoring the movements of the former minister of Justice.
For this reason, in addition to questioning the traders at work on April 15, the agents in charge of the investigation also listened to duty free employees not on shift that day.
Protected by parliamentary immunity
Fassino justified himself publicly, but was not heard by the police because he was exempt from theparliamentary immunity.
