BARI – From tomorrow, bad weather will progressively affect Southern Italy, bringing precipitation, especially thunderstorms, to the southern regions and in particular to Sicily. Based on the available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection in agreement with the regions involved – which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned – has issued a new warning of adverse weather conditions.
The warning predicts scattered to widespread rainfall, including downpours or thunderstorms, in Sicily from the early hours of tomorrow, Wednesday 8 May, extending to Calabria, Puglia, Basilicata and Campania. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity, local hailstorms and strong gusts of wind.
On the basis of the expected and ongoing phenomena, a yellow alert has been assessed for tomorrow in part of Molise and in the entire territory of Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily.
