Threatens to disfigure a classmate with acid, 19-year-old arrested in Foligno

A young man was placed under house arrest after a series of persecutory acts towards a peer.

In Foligno, a 19-year-old young man was placed under house arrest after a series of serious threats and persecutory behavior towards his former classmate, an 18-year-old girl. The boy, not accepting the young woman’s decision to end their brief relationship, engaged in disturbing and aggressive conduct, aggravated by threats of disfigurement with acid.

The case emerged thanks to the investigations conducted by the Foligno carabinieri, who documented how the young man repeatedly tried to contact the victim. He sent numerous threatening messages and called her frequently, often using mutual friends to reach her, despite clear indications from the girl that she did not wish to maintain any type of contact.

The young man’s actions were particularly bold and worrying, including episodes of physical aggression; on one occasion, during a school break, he spat on the girl. In another situation, he was caught near the school armed with an iron bar, further intensifying concerns for the safety of the young woman and her family, who were subjected to insults and direct threats.

Given the repeated and serious acts of persecution, which put the student’s physical and psychological safety in serious danger, the Judge for Preliminary Investigations, evaluating the evidence collected by the prosecutor’s office and the carabinieri, decided to apply house arrest in compared to the 19 year old. This precautionary measure reflects the need to protect the victim and prevent further episodes of violence, thus ensuring a safe environment for her and for the school community in general.

This episode raises significant questions about safety in schools and the dynamics of youth violence, highlighting the need for timely interventions and adequate legal and psychological support for victims of similar attacks.
