From Brazil to Turin to share good internationalization practices

From 8 to 19 April, three administrative officials of the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) – Carol Stoppa, Carlos Salgado And Ludmila Martins – they were visiting theUniversity of Turinwhere they participated in job shadowing activities and meetings with university offices that deal with internationalization and international ranking of universities.

There UFV is a partner of the project Geminae of the UNITA alliance: a network of universities based on active cooperation and the exchange of good practices between UNITA alliance universities and some non-European partner universities from Romance-speaking countries.

After a first day of welcome and presentation, the UFV delegation met the administrative staff of the international partnerships area and teachers active in international collaboration projects to share knowledge and good practices on exchanges and student mobility within UNITA and with the Universities of the Geminae project.

The three guests also visited the Graf Historical Library at the Rectorate of UniTO and other places and offices of the university, such as the University Botanical Garden, where they met teachers of the Departments of Life Sciences and Systems Biology, of Agricultural, Forestry and Food Sciences, of Veterinary Sciences.

Participants were able to discuss topics such as double degree agreements between universities, co-supervision of doctoral theses, planning and implementation of initiatives concerning mobility and communication.

Finally they participated in a lesson intercomprehension between Romance languagesheld at the Department of Foreign Languages ​​and Literatures and Modern Cultures.

The UVT delegation’s next stop is the Spanish University of Zaragoza, UNITA’s partner, where they will be able to further explore cooperation issues with the Alliance.
