The Ravello Festival is at risk
Alarm from the Ravello Foundation
This year, two months after its scheduled inauguration, the Ravello Festival cannot yet be based on a defined budget due to the block imposed by the Government on European funds which, in recent editions, have flowed to the Ravello Foundation through the Poc of the Campania Region , who financed the event almost exclusively.
The Steering and Administrative Councils met together today to examine the issue and decide on the celebration of the 72nd Ravello Festival.
At present, the Foundation’s bodies have only been able to acknowledge that the lack of state funding makes it impossible to stage the same number of shows as in previous years. While waiting for some certainty, the suspension of the tender currently underway for the construction of the stage in the gardens of Villa Rufolo has also been feared.
The governing bodies of the Foundation have therefore decided to request specific extraordinary financial support from the Campania Region to ensure that the tradition of the Festival is not interrupted, even with a reduced programme.
