As already reported by various journalistic sources, the opponent designated for the next and final challenge will be Pescara Basketball. There series will be played as a best of three games, with the first match scheduled for Sunday 13 May in Pescara, the second for Thursday 16 May in Messina and, if necessary, the third match will be held again at Pescara Sunday 19 May.
However, the federation’s decision to determine who will play the first home match and therefore also the potential third match is the subject of heated discussion. There federation proceeded by drawing lots, but the modalities (place, method of drawing, “drawer” and any witnesses) of this drawing were not disclosed. In our specific case, this decision penalizes our society, who based on the results would have had the right to play the first match at home. In fact, we achieved more victories than in Pescaraboth during the regular season and in the following clock phase. Our company is therefore evaluating the possibility of filing an appeal with the competent bodies.
