Work on the installation of the air conditioning system of the Doria municipal library in Lerici will begin on May 6th. They will be completed in approximately fifteen days and will require the closure of the premises until May 20th. The intervention, whose total amount is approximately 35 thousand euros, involves the installation of heat pumps that can produce heat in winter and coolness in summer.
“The intervention was designed on the occasion of the CSE tender which allowed the realization of similar works at the Poggi school complex and at the municipal building where the air conditioning machines and fixtures were installed, interventions which made it possible to make the buildings energy efficient buildings, as well as the Mantegazza complex completed a few weeks ago”, explains Marco Russo, councilor for public works of the Municipality of Lerici. “With this intervention, the library will be more welcoming even in the summer months, when it suffered a slight decline in attendance and use”, observes Lisa Saisi, Councilor for Culture.
The library will reopen with the usual opening hours: from 01 October to 30 June, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 9.00 to 13.00 and on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 14.00 to 19.00; while in the summer period from 01 July to 30 September from Monday to Saturday from 9.00 to 13.00.
The first appointment for the little ones to be held after the reopening is already scheduled. Appointment on May 25th, when “Puppet Night in the Library” will return, in which children will be able to leave one of their puppets to sleep in the library, experiencing a little abandonment, and then meeting again the next morning. The activity is organized by Abygaille and participation is free.
