The concert on May 1st returns to Salerno, with the seventh edition of “1MayDay”. The event, promoted by CGIL, CISL and UIL, supported by numerous local associations represented by the Committee Verso il Primo Maggio di Salerno, and with the patronage of the Municipality and the Province, this year places crucial issues at the center of attention of Justice
Social, Peace, Work and Europe in the firm belief that they are inextricably linked to each other and decisive for the future of the country and the community.
The provincial secretariats of CGIL – CISL – UIL thus underline the common intent of the event:
“On this day we want to say: work returns to the centre, peace returns, no more wars, it is not the time to invest in weapons, it is the time to invest in people’s quality of life and work for a May 1st banner of the fight for safety at work, for increased wages and for the end of precariousness”
The highlight of the concert First of May will be accompanied by a series of other initiatives on the calendar:
–Friday 26 April at 9.00 pm at the Ucca Arci Marea club, in via D. Galdi 10 in Salerno, there will be a screening of the documentary “After Work” by Erik Gandini.
–Tuesday 30 April it will be the turn of two events connected to the widespread network of La notte del lavoro narrato – the first at the Amadeus association in via Ruggiero Da Salerno and the second at the Arco Catalano of Palazzo Pinto – during which, through videos, music , interventions, we will discuss work in its various facets and its relationship with contemporary society.
–Wednesday 1st May, hosted by the Cinema Teatro Augusteo, the concert will start at 6.30 pm which offers a varied line up ranging between different genres and musical expressions: from OverEight to Bluebay, from Fedshui to Akasaira, from Sette Bocche to Stella Burns up to At Toys Orchestra, the band from Agropoli, protagonist of the national Indie Pop scene of
last 25 years, which will present the new album: Midnight Again. The event will be hosted by the explosive comic trio VillaPerBene.
Finally, the spaces in front of the Augusteo Theater will be animated, from the early afternoon, by the network of associations participating in the initiative with exhibition stands, creative workshops and live acoustic musical sets.
