The race, now in its fifth edition, has collected well 127 starters, between the two categories.
In the 1st Year Beginners race Luca Ferro from Bustese Olonia dominated the race: three times out of four he arrived first at the top of the climb on Via Nascimbene. Second place Marco Cammarata from Polisportiva Besnatese, Luca Vitale from Corbettese.

Corbettese, on the other hand, was the winner in the most competitive race of the 2nd year: if Lorenzo Soldarini from Pedale Ossolano (already winner in 2022 as a 1st year rookie) animated the race in the various passages on the hairpin climb, the group closed on the breakaways each time. In the last round Samuele Matteini from Corbettese (in the photo below) overtook Matteo Botta from Pedale Senaghese and Alex Rey Bramati from Besanese.

The awards

The trophy in memory of Giordano Lodi – historic president of SC Crennese – was presented by his children Elena and Giovanni (cycling advisor) e Gabriel (vice president).

There double race on April 25th is also the Marco Limido Trophyestablished in memory of the young man from Crenna, also passionate about cycling, who died when hit by a car in 2016. Awarded to the company of the winners for both categories, it therefore went to Bustese Olonia – to which it was delivered by the Limido family – and to Equipe Corbettese – to whom it was delivered by the SC Crennese members.

The Crennese spring will then continue on May 12th with the historic La Crennese cycling event, an amateur gathering for vintage cycling enthusiasts: everyone on historic bikes and wool jerseys on the hills north of the city and towards the Ticino valley.
