In recent years, senior scams have taken on worrying proportions, with scammers becoming increasingly creative in their approach. From fraudulent phone calls pretending to be financial institutions or government agencies to home visits from people trying to sell phony products or services, seniors are often targeted because of their trust and kindness. An enlightening conference on the growing threat of scams to the elderly was held at the Auser in Viareggio. The event, led by the Commander of the Viareggio Carabinieri station, Raffaele Ferraro, who provided valuable advice on how to protect oneself from these devious deceptions which aim to exploit the vulnerability of the elderly.
