The Fara car park opens on May 4th, info

The car park in via Fara will open on 4 May and Città Alta and Bergamo are preparing for the changes this will bring regarding access to the historic centre.

Here’s what you need to know

– from the ZTL of Città Alta nothing changes in terms of opening hours (closed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 9pm to 1am, in the months in which summer time is in force; on Sundays and public holidays from 10am to 12pm from 2pm to 7pm all year round );

– it will be possible to go up to the Città Alta even during the closing times of the historic center if parking spaces are available in the Città Alta car parks;

the blue places on the Walls they will progressively be made available to residents and authorized persons;

the evening and holiday ZTL gate in Viale Vittorio Emanuele is moved at the exit from the Conca d’Oro tunnel and halfway along via Locatelli, at the intersection with via Brigata Lupi and via Monte Ortigara.

As far as it concerns the internal ZTL of Città Altathe new features are the following, all designed to improve the protection of the historic center and those who live there:
– via San Lorenzo will be included in the perimeter of the ZTL (procedures are already underway to guarantee access to the municipal services located there, such as nursery and nursery school in via Solata);
the parking stalls in Piazza Mercato del Fieno they will be progressively made available to residents and authorized residents only.

The handbook

The Municipality of Bergamo has prepared a handbook, a document that explains everything that the opening of the car park entails and which not only collects the overall vision of mobility for this part of the city, but also answers all the questions that have arisen in these weeks, also thanks to a certain degree of misinformation – often generated through word of mouth. The document can be downloaded directly from the website of the Municipality of Bergamo and from the portal www.bergamoinchiaro.it, in the Mobility section, within the focus on Traffic Management and Parking.
