The exhibition created in honor of the painter from Mantua Domenico Fornasariknown as Memo Fornasari, his works exhibited to the public: where and when.

The well-known painter from Mantua, who has always been passionate about the world of painting and known to the public for his marked imagination and creativity linked to his futuristic thinking, studies Fine Arts and subsequently approaches the world of cinema by making documentaries. Only later did he return to the world of painting and begin to exhibit his works.
Today he is remembered and honored by municipality of Vigevanohis works will indeed come exhibited by the “C.Ottone” Civic Museum, at the Civic Art Gallery.
When the event will take place
The inauguration of the exhibition will be held on 4 May 2024 at 5pm and it will be possible to visit the exhibition until May 30, 2024. Opening hours are: from Tuesday to Friday from 2pm to 5.30pm, Saturday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
“Domenico Fornasari he is a real painter who paysequally, his own artistic eclecticism and inadequate criticism. A distracting flexibility that takes him now onto the path of cinema, now into the world of design; a criticism that, before doing anything about him, gropes between narcissistic ramblings and useless definitions of his own galaxies, incapable of proposing a comparison that would bring out his affinities with the greats of his time. – explains the curator of the exhibition Carlo Micheli –
Yet those futuristic forms of his speak of a cultured, avant-garde painting, attentive to the spatialism of Fontana, but also to Vedova, Turcato, Corpora. This exhibition aims to induce a reflection on Fornasari’s artistic valuesnot so much to claim records or advances, but rather to affirm how the artist from Mantua was there, among the greats, at the right time, in those 50s and 60s in which the biggest names in Contemporary Art flourished”.
