«Imola loves bike» turns yellow: pedaling, solidarity and a tribute to the passage of the Tour de France – Saturday Evening

«Imola loves bike» is back, the project to promote two-wheeled activities that take place in the city and the surrounding area. This year, to pay homage to the passing of the Tour de France, the rich calendar of initiatives dedicated to the bike world is tinged with yellow. There are many events from May to September, in a succession of competitions and family walks, to discover the area and nature.

We start with the introductory cycling courses at the Bike Park Parco dell’Osservanza open to girls aged 4 to 11, organized by the Giocathlon association, which will also continue on Saturdays in May. The Tutto in Bici initiative has already started at the Parco dell’Osservanza Bike Park, organized by the Giocathlon association with Mosaico and Officina Imagineta with a program that tomorrow offers a bicycle maintenance workshop organized by Bi.ci in Cà Vaina and a bike ride up to Bosco della Frattona. On May 12th, however, PedaliAmo la natura arrives, a ride on the Santerno cycle path in the section in the Municipality of Imola to discover the Codrignano lock and the Zirina regional nursery, organized by the Ceas Imolese. On May 25th the stage of «The rickshaw pedals equality» arrives in Imola to combine gender inequalities and sustainable mobility. On 25 and 26 May, solidarity will be the protagonist at the racetrack: in fact, we will be cycling for Imola Charity Bike, with a 6-hour team cycling event that will help raise funds for research against Cystic Fibrosis. Many cycling champions will compete, led by the president of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Matteo Marzotto. More charity on 8 June, again at the racetrack but also on the roads of the World Championship and the Tour with a new edition of the Suzuki bike day, with the proceeds entirely donated to Dynamo Camp. On the occasion of the Santerno Agricultural Fair, the Agripedalata is scheduled, a ride on the Santerno cycle path in the section of the municipality of Imola to discover the local farms with the Gipiesse association.

To get to the key event, i.e. the passage of the Tour de France, on 30 June: the arrival of the caravan is expected from 1pm, first at the racetrack and then in the city. One of the stages of the women’s Giro d’Italia will start in Piazza Matteotti on 10 July, with the village and the presentation of the teams and the departure. Finally, the now historic Fabbi GP will be staged in July, while Graffiti Bike returns in September, a bike tour around the city’s cycle paths to discover the artistic beauties of Imola. Imola loves bike will end on September 22nd with cycling Sundays, from the racetrack to the Santerno cycle path.
