“It was a tough match, with two very balanced and strong teams. We started well, but they recovered in the second quarter; we must always try to be ready for these partials, these changes of pace. In the end we kept the game a little calm, keeping calm and doing everything we could to win. This is a step forward, but now we are focused on tomorrow night and we need to get back focused on the pitch, because Turin is very dangerous.”
We then asked what still needed to be improved: “There were times in the game where we definitely lost focus on defense, allowing them to get to the basket. On the other hand, even in attack, when we had patience and passed the ball, we often found good shots. However, when we shot too early, the percentages decreased. Last night we had 11 turnovers and they had 18, it’s not terrible, but our goal is to stay under 10, we can still work on this.”
Finally, he spares a thought for the fans who came to Turin to follow the away match and how fundamental they will be for Game 3 at the PalaTrieste:
“As always, their presence is and will be fundamental. We really appreciate our fans and the Curva Nord who were here last night. If we want to achieve this common goal, we must all do it together, it is the only way. Without them it would be impossible.”
