FP CGIL Calabria note on hiring workers of the Calabria Lavoro company

Below is the FP CGIL Calabria press note on the results of the dispute for 51 workers of Azienda Calabria Lavoro.

We read in the note from FP CGIL Calabria:

“The FP CGIL Calabria expresses great satisfaction for the result achieved after 15 years which has finally given serenity and certainty to the 51 workers And workers of Azienda Calabria Lavoro who signed the permanent contract yesterday”.

The note continues:

“A very long dispute which gives the measure of how much the various forms of precarious employment provided for by the current regulations also concern the public administration. The story of these workers starts from afar, since 2008, when they were selected among the best graduates to be retained in Calabria with a temporary internship experience. Often the temporary becomes permanent and, in fact, these young people have grown up and become adults by going through all the types of atypical and precarious contracts that exist”.

FP CGIL Calabria explains in the note:

“And so between a cocopro and then a cococo and a fixed-term contract passed 15 years of anguish, of uncertainties, of a lack of future to imagine, despite the daily work in which they made their professionalism available. The FP Cgil which has supported them in this long time has never given up on continuing the discussion, pressing the institutional and managerial levels that have alternated, proposing legitimate solutions and organizing moments of mobilization until the current administration, to which we recognize attention for these workers and determination in overcoming the last obstacles by identifying regulatory solutions and financial resources, in a close and constant comparison with the trade unions. it put an end to an unseemly condition by restoring dignity to the best graduates of many years ago.”
