Fidanza: “CAP simplifications a victory for European farmers”

The Head of the Fratelli d’Italia delegation to the European Parliament, Carlo Fidanzaon the sidelines of the plenary session underway in Strasbourg, he expressed his opinion regarding the simplifications of some provisions of the CAP, the agricultural policy common to all the countries of the European Union, which represents a close understanding between agriculture and society, between Europe and its farmers.

Fidanza’s words

“The simplifications on some provisions of the CAP, approved today by the European Parliament, represent an important victory for European farmers and the Italian government, which in recent months has fought alongside us to give a clear message to the primary sector, in contrast with the sector policies adopted during this legislature. Minister Lollobrigida was the first in the Agrifish Council to push in this direction and Giorgia Meloni was the European leader who pushed the most for these changes to be put on the agenda of the European Council”, declared the Head of Delegation of Fratelli d’ Italy.

“Reduction of administrative burdens, flexibility for Member States in the implementation of strategic plans regarding green conditionalities, exemption from controls for small farmers of up to 10 hectares: all measures strongly desired by Italy to accommodate farmers and archive the season of ideological and bureaucratic fury against the primary sector. The elections of 8 and 9 June will be the opportunity to make these changes permanent, send the green Taliban home once and for all and return to valorising the CAP as an irreplaceable tool to guarantee European citizens good and healthy food in sufficient quantities and European farmers a certain and dignified income”.
