Teramo, fire in a municipally owned building

TERAMO – During yesterday evening, May 5, a team of firefighters from the Teramo command carried out an intervention to put out a fire that occurred in a municipally owned buildingpreviously used as a school, in Frondarola di Teramo.

The flames broke out in a room on the second floor and affected waste material and various furnishings. The fire produced dense smoke which spread throughout the building, blackening all the rooms on the second floor, part of the first floor and the stairwell.

The team intervened with a fire engine, a tanker, an off-road vehicle with a fire-fighting module and a van for transporting breathing apparatus. The Fire Brigade extinguished the flames and evacuated the thick smoke that spread to various rooms of the building.

The building has been declared unusable pending the necessary technical checks and restoration works. The Carabinieri of Pietracamela and Teramo also intervened on site for the relevant obligations and the Mayor of Teramo.
