Crotone – The Marian month is approaching, “the Easter of the Crotone people”, as Monsignor Giuseppe Agostino said several times. The city awaits to live a particular moment with faith, close to its Patron who, this year, will be exposed to devotion at the Church of the Immaculate Conception as the Cathedral Basilica is closed for restoration.
The April 30th at 12.00 the Big Picture of Madonna di Capo Colonna will be exhibited for filial veneration by the people of Crotone at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. In Piazza Duomo the people of Crotone will await the release of the venerated Effigy: in the churchyard of the Cathedral Basilica there will be the reception of the large painting of the Madonna of Capo Colonna, with procession towards the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
In order to allow the reception of the venerated painting of the Madonna of Capocolonna in the churchyard of the Cathedral Basilica, the following measures relating to the city’s traffic have been adopted by executive order: ban on parking and stops with forced removal, from 10:00 to 3pm on 30 April 2024, on via Silvio Messinetti and on Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
On Saturday 11 May 2024 at 6.00 pm there will be the Procession of the Big Picture towards the San Giovanni di Dio hospital in Crotone, with the following route: Piazza Immacolata, Corso V. Emanuele, Via Mons. Raimondi, piazza Umberto I, largo Covelli, via Regina Margherita, via Cappuccini, via Crea, corso Mazzini, via Silvio Carpino, piazza Francesco Corrado, via XXV Aprile, via Bologna, piazzale Ospedale. Moment of prayer with the sick. Then the return route: via Bologna, via XXV Aprile, via Vittorio Veneto, piazza Pitagora, via S. Messinetti, corso V. Emanuele, church of the Immacolata
Sunday 12 May 2024 at 6.00 pm in Piazza Duomo: Solemn Pontifical Liturgy presided over by Monsignor Angelo Raffaele Panzetta, Archbishop of Crotone-Santa Severina, with the participation of the Cathedral Chapter. Offering of the votive candle by the municipal administration.
