Special concert in memory of Maestro Alberto Bruni

Saturday 27 April at 5.00 pm The Claudio Monteverdi Conservatory of Cremona will host at its headquarters in via Realdo Colombo 1 a concert special in memory of Maestro Alberto Brunia well-known pianist from Cremona who died prematurely in 2015.

The event offers the opportunity to celebrate the memory of the Master and the generous donation made by the Bruni family to the Conservatorywhich includes a grand piano and a vast collection of scores that will significantly enrich Monteverdi’s heritage.

The students of the teacher’s piano class will perform with the piano that was the object of the donation Giovanna Gatto of the Monteverdi Conservatory, Leonardo Bodini, Luca Bodini, Emanuela Fiumara, Anastasia Froicu, Claudia Rosso And Veronica Variantswith a rich program that includes the performance of some splendid pieces by composers such as Bach And Busoni, Bartok, Chopin, Debussy And Liszt.

Alberto Bruni, born in Cremona in 1963, graduated in piano with top marks at the “Lucio Campiani” Conservatory of Mantua under the guidance of Maestro Camillo Bertetti, he then continued with his composition studies at the “Arrigo Boito” Conservatory of Parma with Maestro Emilio Ghezzi. He dedicated himself to an intense activity as an accompanying pianist, which led him to perform with some of the most famous names on the international opera scene (Aldo Protti, Adelina Romano, Renato Bruson, Mariella Devia, Alberto Gazale, Dimitra Theodossiou), to performing the orchestral part with the piano alone in the complete representation of operas including Elisir d’amore, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Trovatore, Rigoletto, Cavalleria rusticana, Tosca, collaborating in concert with numerous choirs, including the “Ponchielli-Vertova” choir ” of Cremona, the “Gioacchino Rossini Choral Society of Modena and the “Giuseppe Verdi” Choral of Parma, as well as playing in multiple chamber music ensembles, both vocal and instrumental.

In the words of his brother Franco Bruni: “the donation to the Conservatory of the piano and scores belonging to Maestro Alberto Bruni aims to remember the figure of the latter, who for thirty years constituted a point of reference for music, not only for Cremona. In fact, he combined his music teaching at the state school with an intense activity as a pianist and accompanist for instrumentalists, singers and choirs, as well as a mentor for other musicians.”
