Venezia-Cremonese will be played on Friday evening in the men’s Serie B football team. It’s an important match, because the teams are third and fourth in the league respectively, with four days left to go. The top two teams (for now Parma and Como) will be promoted directly to Serie A, while a third team will exit the playoffs, which will be played between the six teams from third to eighth place. For the moment the ranking is: Parma 70, Como 67, Venezia 64, Cremonese 60. To present the match, Venezia created a very aesthetically pleasing poster, publishing it on social media and sticking it around the city, as it always does with these posters : the one for the match with Cremonese on X (Twitter) was compared to that of an exhibition.

It’s not the first time this has happened: Venezia has been taking great care of its image and marketing for a few years now, and the posters presenting the matches on the team’s social profiles and around the city are always very recognizable – in an unusual way for a football team – and they often receive praise. Team shirts have become a fashionable item of clothing and in general there are few teams of this size so attentive to communication and aesthetics. Such attention, combined with the charm that is usually attributed to the city it represents, has allowed the club to be appreciated above all abroad and to have excellent results on a commercial level.

However, this success also divided the local fans, who were more interested in the team’s sporting results than anything else. In 2021, when Venezia were promoted to Serie A for the first time in almost twenty years, there was a lot of excitement in the city. The immediate relegation and the bad first part of the last Serie B championship (then ended with eighth place and defeat in the first round of the playoffs) had generated several protests from the fans. This year Venezia is doing well: it can still reach the first two positions in the standings valid for direct promotion, and if it doesn’t succeed it will most likely play the playoffs to try to return to Serie A.
