10 new buses were delivered today to AIR Campania, at the Caserta headquarters. These are buses produced by Iveco, powered by methane and which combine efficiency, comfort and ecology. The Mobi model, 8 meters long, is particularly suitable in urban centers due to its size. It accommodates up to 32 seats, of which 17 are seats, and guarantees accessibility to all categories of travellers. The buses, equipped with a video surveillance and user information system, have already been put on the road today to serve the Caserta and Avellino basins.
The new vehicles delivered by ACaMIR represent a further significant step forward in the constant modernization of the vehicle fleet desired by the Campania Region. To date, the local regional public transport company has already received 120 of the 244 buses assigned.
«Thanks to the work of the Campania Mobility Agency, which is respecting the timetable set out in the regional fleet renewal plan, strongly supported by President De Luca, we have a younger, greener and more efficient fleet. In three years, AIR Campania has gone from a fleet of 350 vehicles to 700 with an average age of 9.4 years compared to 13.7 in 2021. A real leap forward also compared to the national data on the average age of vehicles in circulation, which stands at 9.7 years as confirmed by the data from the ASSTRA study centre”, declared the administrator of AIR Campania, Anthony Acconcia.
