Olbia. As part of the vibrant sporting atmosphere that invaded the city of Olbia yesterday, April 25th, the Porto Rotondo Sports Club, with the patronage and support of the Municipality of Olbia, orchestrated an unprecedented fencing event at the Direzione Didattica 1 Gym ° Circolo Olbia, located in Via Alessandro Nanni, 13.
The event, entitled “Fencing City of Olbia: 2nd Gallura Trophy”, has aroused great interest in the local community, highlighting the growing appeal of this noble sport in the heart of northern Sardinia. The goal of the Porto Rotondo sports club to introduce fencing into city life seems to have found positive feedback, as demonstrated by the enthusiastic participation of enthusiasts and athletes from different parts of the region and beyond.
The tournament, designed to allow those who have never witnessed a live fencing competition to fully appreciate its beauty and tension, was a triumph of emotion and athletic ability.
Among the participants in the tournament, the representatives of the Società Ginnastica Triestina Sez stand out. Fencing and Treviso Fencing M° Ettore Geslao, coming respectively from Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. Both clubs presented talented young athletes, some of whom were already protagonists in national and European championships. The competition saw the participation of numerous Sardinian Fencing Clubs, including the CUS Cagliari, the Sassarese Fencing Club, the Cagliari Fencing Club, the Athos Academy of Arms, the Oristano Fencing Club and, obviously, the Porto Rotondo Sports Club, confirming the enthusiasm and liveliness of the regional fencing movement. Among the winners of the various competition categories, athletes of great talent and determination stood out, testifying to the competitiveness and high technical level achieved by Sardinian fencers. From young cadets to promising students, each category saw emerging talents ready to leave their mark on the national scene.
