MONTESILVANO. Fabrizio D’Addazio, 60 years old, Montesilvanese for generations, entrepreneur in the rental and logistics sector for large events, city councilor for only two years at the beginning of 2000. This is the identikit of the candidate for mayor of the centre-left coalition who yesterday morning in the council chamber was officially presented by the various political forces in support of him. “I grew up in this area,” began the aspiring mayor. «This city has given me so much. I made this choice because I feel like I want to give back to the community what I have had. I will take time away from my family and my company, but having the opportunity to become the mayor of the third largest city in Abruzzo is a source of pride, especially because it is my city.”
After almost 20 years from the only administrative experience which, from 2004 to 2006, I saw him in the role of councilor in the DS, before returning home with the entire Cantagallo administration due to the Ciclone investigation, from which he emerged unscathed , D’Addazio is ready to return to Piazza Diaz. The entrepreneur, who hopes to get the better of the center-right candidate, to allow the center-left to return to governing the city after 10 years of absence, is supported by the Pd, Allenza Verdi and Sinistra and other civic forces, to which in the next few hours we could also add the M5S which, before making its support official, is waiting for the consensus of the base. “I accepted the candidacy on the condition of having the support of the entire coalition,” declared D’Addazio.
«I will be the coach of a great team, I am very motivated and I will try to instill my enthusiasm in all the candidates who support me. We are working on the lists and we hope to have two civic ones, then together with all our strengths we will write the program”.
As for the objectives to follow, D’Addazio has clear ideas: «We must give this city an identity again because it has many opportunities and potential that are not exploited. The imperative is to act, with a concrete and timely program that affects the entire territory.”
The press conference was attended by the regional secretary of the Democratic Party, Daniele Marinellithe regional secretary of the Italian Left Abruzzo, Daniele Licherithe regional dem councilors Antonio Blasioli And Antonio Di Marco and city councilors Romina Di Costanzo, Antonio Saccone and Enzo Fidanza. «D’Addazio represents a great opportunity for Montesilvano», declared Marinelli, «a very important city in the regional scene and debased by the power positions of the right, forced to play a marginal and gregarious role in the process of building the new Pescara. We need to open a new season, with a broad and competitive coalition and a strong and authoritative candidate.” A thought also shared by Licheri: «The Green-Left Alliance is an active part in building the right field to beat the right and restore dignity to the third city of Abruzzo which has long been tormented by a low profile ruling class focused only on its own particular interests. Putting the rights and needs of citizens back at the center for a sustainable and welcoming city: for us on the Italian Left, social justice will be the guiding light of this electoral campaign.” And again, Di Marco: «The experience and ability that D’Addazio can put at the service of the city find my full support: I am convinced that a change of perspective will be followed by a true rebirth of Montesilvano, which can aspire to a role significant in the economy of the province and the region”.
