Frecciarossa return to Abruzzo in the summer. That’s where

Trenitalia has announced the new summer timetables and there are important news regarding Abruzzo. New connections announced via Frecciarossa.

Abruzzo wants to relaunch tourism and to do so has long asked Trenitalia to strengthen connections with some places in our region. And the company immediately accepted the wishes of the council led by Marsilio. New routes have been made official, effective from 9 June to 15 September.

This is a great opportunity to relaunch the regional economy and tourism during the summer period. Let’s see in detail the routes and timetables that will affect our region starting from June.

Frecciarossa in Abruzzo: the new routes

With the entry into force of the summer timetables, Abruzzo will have a greater number of connections compared to other periods of the year. Trenitalia, in fact, accepted the request to make it easier to get to some tourist locations in the region. For this reason it was decided to restore the Frecciarossa stop in Giulianova and in the Vasto-San Salvo station.

The route that will be affected by these changes it is the one from Milan to LeccAnd. Absolutely important news for our region and to relaunch tourism. Although it must be said that the municipalities were hoping for a greater commitment. But for this year it was decided not to change compared to the past.

The times

Let’s take a look at the timetables of the new routes in detail. In Giulianova the departure towards Lecce is scheduled for 12.30 while the arrival (direction Milan) is scheduled for 5.20pm. To these are naturally added the two ordinary stops of the Frecciarossa and Intercity trains which are now active all year round.

At the Vasto-San Salvo station the times are 1.22pm (departing from Milan) and 9.33am with the Frecciarossa coming from Lecce. Also in this case these are stops and routes in addition to the ordinary Intercity stops.
