On the occasion of April 25th, the whole city met to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Liberation of Italy from Nazi-fascism.

Also this year, on the occasion of the 79th anniversary, the municipal administration, together with the neighborhoods and local associations, has proposed a rich program of events.

The celebrations began this morning, Thursday 25 April, with the gathering of civil, military and citizen authorities in the “M. Alboni” (east square of the Cavour Barrier). Following this, the “Città di Cesena” musical band started the procession along Viale Carducci, until the laying of the wreath on the monument to the Fallen of the Resistance by Mayor Enzo Lattuca.

In the afternoon, at 3.00 pm, the party continued in the Serravalle Gardens with the conclusion of the process started last November 20th by the municipal administration “Cesenati also us” relating to the recognition of citizenship for young people of foreign origin.

Wreaths were placed in the Allied Military Cemetery, on the plaque to Mario Guidazzi (in Corso Cavour n. 157), on the Monument to the Fallen of Kefalonia (in V.le Carducci), on the plaque in memory of the Jews who fell and were deported for racial reasons (in Piazza Almerici), on the Plaque to the City of Cesena and on the plaque to the Fallen Partisans (Loggia of the Town Hall), on the Plaque to the Civilian Victims (in the Atrium of the Town Hall), in the Sferisterio of the Rocca, in the Ossuary Crypt of the Urban Cemetery, on the Monument to the Victims of Ponte Ruffio.
