ALEXANDRIA – Lofficial speech during the celebrations for The 79th anniversary of the Liberation in Alessandria was not liked by the city secretary of the Democratic Party, Rapisardo Antinucci or, at least, some passages of the speech of the historian and journalist Angelo d’Orsi.
“In his passionate speech – writes Antinucci – he said that the use of weapons is always wrong, in clear reference to his opposition to the supply of weapons to Ukraine. I would like to remind the esteemed professor that our partisans fought the Nazi-fascist invaders with weapons supplied by the Anglo-American allies, and died as heroes fighting and not waving flags of peace”.
“Exploiting April 25th with instrumental and inappropriate arguments – writes the secretary of the Democratic Party of Alessandria – it offends first of all the partisans who died with weapons in their hands to defend their country and our freedom. As the Ukrainians are now doing defending their country and their freedom. April 25th must unite all Italians under the flag of anti-fascism, as Mayor Abonante rightly said from the stage of the event. If the flag is Putin’s, you have the wrong date, place and demonstration.”
