stop decontribution for workers in the South

“Yet another robbery by the Meloni Government, we need to work to build a valid alternative”

Press release

The Meloni Government carries out yet another theft against businesses and citizens of the South. The stop to the reduction of contributions for workers in the South puts numerous jobs at risk.

This was declared by the former regional councilor and candidate in the European elections for the Democratic Party Luigi Tassone who recalls that “more than 3 million workers have been hired from 2021 to today thanks to this measure”.

According to what Tassone explains, “the 30% exemption from contributions for employees in the private sector for companies based in the South was supposed to last until 2029. Instead, we learned from Minister Fitto – he adds – that the tax exemption will not be renewed and it will therefore be surpassed by July”.

In consideration of the expected consequences, Tassone hopes that “the minister will mend his ways” and “change orientation, thus preventing yet another deprivation for the regions lagging behind in development”, but at present he can only “record that the right continues to implement discriminatory policies towards Southern Italy. For this reason – he concludes – it is necessary to strongly oppose these policies and work constantly to build the alternative to the right”.
