Athletics Marche: young talents shine in the first outdoor meetings

FERMO – Despite quite cold temperatures, the first outdoor meetings for track and field athletics have begun between Fermo and Macerata, with the Sangiorgesi team from Team Atletica Marche having already scored some winning moves, also in view of the upcoming club championships . Nineteen-year-old sprinter Lorenzo Lanciotti took the lead, author of a real exploit in the 100 m: 10”97 and the first time under the 11-second barrier for Elisa Del Moro’s pupil, also capable of a nice 22”64 over 200 m.

Lorenzo’s younger brother, Alberto, also recorded his personal best in the 100 m in the same race, running in 11”68. The long jumper Luca Peroni, born in 2003, achieved two victories in two races and in particular in Macerata he landed at 6.88 m, demonstrating that he is ready to overcome the 7 meter barrier. Peroni preceded in the standings his teammate Lorenzo Falappa, 6.71 m, who has already risen to 1.93 m in his chosen specialty, the high jump, in which he boasts a record over 2 meters.

Good news also came from the throws: the student Michele Smiriglia, a valid decathlete, threw the javelin from 700 g to 45.51 m, while the veteran Ilaria Del Moro threw the 600 gram tool to 35.67 m; finally the very young Matilde Mecozzi, still a cadet, stood out in the hammer throw with 39.65 m, her new personal best.
