“We are ready, the ‘City to Come’ is ready.” The center-left coalition that supports Federico Scaramucci’s candidacy for mayor is determined to win in the first round, meeting yesterday to present the lines of action in the event that they receive the majority of preferences on June 9th. The seven lists that make up the coalition are optimistic: “The wind has changed – they say – there is a desire for a new story for Urbino. Urbino is in decline in everything, from the inhabitants to the value of the properties, from artisan businesses to tourists”.
So here are the programmatic points of the 183 candidates of ‘The city that will come’. Tourism, “the city’s second engine, will make Urbino alive all year round thanks to ’52 events for 52 weeks’, to be entrusted to the associations. Disseminated information will be crucial, with digital totems also in the villages. Parking must be in structure and the lift on weekends are free. Only ten years ago we were the seventh most visited city in the Marche and now we have dropped to twelfth place, even surpassed by small businesses that have managed to make themselves welcoming to make Urbino attractive again, and retain young people, it is not only necessary to create jobs but also cultural and social liveliness, respecting the rules, creating meeting spaces such as a public library with free services and establishing a Polytechnic of the Arts”. But well-being passes through sport and health: the points are restoration of the levels of healthcare personnel, decongestion of the emergency room, establishment of a community nurse, creation of new sports facilities.
On major works: “We will work tirelessly – says Scaramucci – to create a fast-flowing route that connects the territory of Urbino to the coast both by road and on other road networks.
