TERAMO. The tension in the Teramo prison is not decreasing. Now even the female doctors working in the facility are at risk of harassment. Yet another episode occurred yesterday, when a North African prisoner asked to go to the infirmary to be examined, but once he arrived in the presence of the doctor on duty, he began to undress and shout at her that she would have to visit his erogenous parts, with vulgar and disrespectful terms. The police tried to reassure him.
At that point, the inmate pulled a razor blade from his mouth to hit them. The man, now blocked, continued to rant and threaten. With great difficulty the situation was brought back to normal. The Surveillance Inspector, in containing the troublemaker, reported an initial prognosis of 7 days.
The provincial secretariat of the Sinappe union of Teramo denounces: “Once again the prisoners show a spirit of oppression towards the institutions, attempting to take over the prisons and claiming to dictate rules in the belief that their every gesture goes unpunished and is devoid of any consequence, demonstrating the broadest resistance to re-education. We express our solidarity with both the prison and healthcare staff involved.”
