CATANIA – Despite the almost winter climate these days, the fact that summer is coming is certified by a document: the publication of the bathing bans. The ordinance for 2024 it was signed yesterday by the mayor of Catania Enrico Trantino.

As always, port or industrial areas remain closed to bathing: 1023 meters for the small port of Every one (tourist and non-tourist area); 220 for that of Saint John Li Cuti; 1900 meters to the port of Catania; 35 meters to the outlet of gutter channel.
All things considered, you can’t swim in the elephant city alone 4.2 kilometers of coastline. To which must be added i 3.2 kilometers of the incoming coast in the Simeto Oasisnot suitable for swimming because it is a protected area.
In total, therefore, they are 7.4 the kilometers of forbidden sea. Violators risk fines ranging from 25 to 500 euros.
