About 300 activists the social centers organized a protest demonstration against this morning in Piazzale Roma in Venice the introduction of the access ticket to the city for day tourists. Some moment of tension it was recorded when the young people tried to overcome the police cordon, to reach the area of the train station, where there was the checkpoint on the vouchers, or on the QRs that certify the exemption for the categories that they just have to register on the Municipality’s app. The figure of the mayor is especially targeted by the protesters Luigi Brugnaroand the idea of a city transformed into “Veniceland“. There was a calmer climate, however, in a second demonstration by the citizen committees against the ticket, positioned close to the QR checkpoint. There was also a brief confrontation with Mayor Brugnaro, which ended in a hug.
