Institutions, students and unions gathered in the square to celebrate April 25th.
The celebrations, like every year, took place in Martyrs of Hungary square, at the Shrine, in the presence of local authorities and a large group of demonstrators.

In his speech, the president of the Province Alessandro Romoli highlighted the importance of the anniversary.
“That day, with a general insurrection of many women and men from all over Italy, history reversed its axis: the executioners were defeated, the jailers put to flight, the chains were broken,” said Romoli.

“April 25th teaches us that there is no more precious good than freedom. But also that this freedom, like democracy, is by no means a given. We must defend it every day, expand it if possible, reaffirm it,” she highlighted.
The procession, organized by the Anpi, saw the presence of many young people.
In her speech, the mayor Chiara Frontini underlined the centrality of the party.

“For all of us, April 25 represents a date of rebirth, of affirmation of the values of freedom, of moral and civil redemption after the Second World War,” said the mayor.
“April 25th – for councilor Luisa Ciambella – is a moment to reflect on the tragedies of the past and to honor the memory of those who gave their lives to defend the fundamental values of humanity. It is also an opportunity to renew our commitment to peace, social justice and solidarity.”
