The Touring Club Forlì to discover the Renaissance places of Forlì

(Sixth Power) – Forlì – 25 April – Saturday 27 April 2024 the members of the Touring Club Forlì will participate in an excursion in the historic center of Forlì to discover the traces left by the Renaissance era on some important buildings and on the history of Forlì.

The initiative was promoted by Franco Sami, local representative of the association, while Gabriele Zelli will accompany the participants on the trail of the palaces, courtyards, frescoes, loggias and porticoes built between 1400 and 1500 which still exist despite the heavy renovations that the city underwent with the construction project of the so-called “Terra del Duce”, which the fascist regime implemented following the general indication given by the leader, but without a pre-arranged program.

The itinerary will start at 10.30 am from Piazza Saffi, where the expansion of the Town Hall at the behest of Cecco III and Pino III Ordelaffi in the mid-14th century will be told, and will unfold according to an itinerary which will have as stops the Piazzetta della Misura, Palazzo Albertini, the Church of Carmine, the Abbey of San Mercuriale with the altarpiece by Palmezzano, the convent and the church of the servants of Mary (San Pellegrino), the Rocca di Ravaldino, the Oratory of San Sebastiano, ending around 12.30 at Palazzo Albicini, where the Circolo Aurora is based.

The itinerary, which may be subject to change, is approximately 3 km, with frequent stops for explanations.
