Italy is still in the grip of one winter circulation which in recent days has marked the return not only of bad weather with rain and showers, but also of cold and snow in various regions. Temperatures also dropped sharply which marked a record of -10° compared to the average for the period, plunging a large part of the country into typically winter climate. The situation is expected to improve in conjunction with long weekend of April 25thLiberation Day, which marks a reverse with a gradual softening of the climate.
The disposition of the currents from the western and southern quadrants will allow the influx of more temperate air masses which will favor a thermal rise with an increase in temperatures first in the Centre-South and then in the Northern regions. There will be no shortage of precipitation expected on Friday 26 April in various regions of the Centre-North thanks to the passage of the disturbance n.8 of April which will be followed shortly afterwards by a second disturbance, the n.9 of the month, evolving over Europe western. The climate is destined to improve completely from Sunday 28 April with a rise in temperatures and peaks of up to 25°.
But let’s go into detail with them weekend forecast. Friday 26 April slightly to partially cloudy skies in the South and Islands with the risk of rain in the north of Puglia. Clouds in the rest of the country with the risk of precipitation starting from the early hours of the morning in the North-West areas and in the afternoon also in Emilia, Venice and internal areas of the Centre. Temperatures are rising throughout the country even if the values will still be below the averages for the period. There climatic turning point is expected over the weekend between 27 and 28 April thanks to the arrival of mild winds from the south, primarily Lo Scirocco which will lead to an increase in heat and temperatures.
The mercury is destined to rise everywhere, even if in the northern regions the rise will be less significant than in the southern regions where sunshine and peaks of 25° are expected. On the day of Saturday 27 April good weather throughout the country with the risk of some sporadic rain in the Northern regions and Tuscany due to the passage of a very weak disturbance.
Weather, the trend from April 28th to the weekend of May 1st in Italy
Even the day of Sunday 28 April is in the sign of a sunny climate in a large part of Italy. The only exceptions will be the North-West regions where the weather forecast outlines the risk of rain and showers in the early hours of the morning on the Alpine sectors and the foothills of Piedmont and on the Aosta Valley. They are not excluded snowfall on peaks above 2,000 metres. Temperatures are still rising which will also push towards values above the average for the period in the Central-Southern and Islands regions.
