Madonna of Modena, the calendar of religious celebrations
The novena in honor of the Madonna of Modena begins tomorrow (26 April), with Holy Mass at 6:30 in the morning. Everyday, until Sunday 5 May (solemnity day)the moments of prayer and adoration at the foot of the venerated Effigy of Mary of Modena will be renewed, at the Sanctuary of the district south of the city of Reggio Calabria.

Tomorrow April 26In particular, the daily program includes the celebration of Holy Masses in the morning: at 6.30 and 9.30 and Eucharistic Adoration until midday. The other celebrations will take place at 4.30pm and 6.30pm, the latter followed by the Via Lucis.
The day of Saturday 27 April will follow the same program. However, immediately after the 6.30 pm mass there will be the Song of Vespers. Sunday 28 AprilInstead, the celebrations of the Masses will follow the following timetable: in the morning at 6.30, at 8 and 11. In the afternoon at 4.30 and 6.30, the latter followed by the Singing of Vespers.
Monday 29th And Tuesday 30 April, Holy Masses will then be celebrated at 6.30 and 9.30, followed by Eucharistic Adoration until midday. In the afternoon, at 4.30pm and 6.30pm, the latter followed by Vespers.
On May 1st Archbishop Morrone will administer the Confirmations
Wednesday May 1st, celebration at 6.30pm will be presided over by the metropolitan archbishop of Reggio Calabria – Bova, Monsignor Fortunato Morrone who will administer the Sacrament of Confirmation. While the next day, Thursday 2 May, immediately after the last celebration of the day (6.30 pm) it will be recited the Akathistos Hymnfamous hymn dedicated to the Theotokos (God’s Mother) in the Byzantine tradition.
In the following days the program of celebrations includes the same liturgical moments. The 6.30pm mass day 3 will be followed by the Via Lucis, while Saturday 4from the Vespers.
Sunday 5 Mayfeast of the Madonna of Modena, in addition to the appointments with the Eucharistic celebrations (6.30, 8, 11 and 17), will be held, starting at 6.30 pm, the traditional procession of the Venerated Picture of Mary through the streets of the parish community. Leading the prayer will be Father Omero Biliotti, from the community of Capuchin friars. No offerings will be collected during the procession.
Furthermore, accompanying the effigy of the Madonna of Modena will be the Band complex “City of Mosorrofa”. The return of the procession will be welcomedinstead, from the spectacle of pyrotechnic games by the Schiavone company which will also take care of the installation of the lights.

In the message to the community, in preparation for the party, this is the parish priest’s invitation Don Gianni Licastrofrom the Brotherhood and gods Church groups: «Pope Francis, in preparation for the Jubilee Year of 2025 (Holy Year), invites us to prepare for this important event for the whole church, through prayer. Rediscover prayer in our life of faith, its meaning, its importance. The monks of the East said that prayer is an art and you learn to pray by praying.”

SUNDAY 28 APRIL. Villetta Diramazione Caprai – 09:00 am “Let’s play with Maria” – Morning of games for children organized by parish groups. Children and families are invited to participate in this moment of celebration dedicated to
Madonna. At the end of the games we will all participate together in the Holy Mass at 11:00.
