Viterbo: three measures for gender violence carried out by the State Police

VITERBO – In respect of the rights of the person under investigation and the presumption of innocence, as far as is currently known, subject to further investigation and pending judgement, the following is communicated.
In recent days, staff of the State Police of the Section specialized in Crimes against Persons of the Flying Squad of the Viterbo Police Headquarters carried out two arrests for conviction and an approach ban, all relating to the matter of gender violence. In particular, on Friday 19 April a man was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Court of Appeal of Rome for domestic abuse and sexual violence against a minor, events which occurred in Viterbo in 2013.
Last April 22, however, another person was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment by the Court of Viterbo for the crime of family abuse, which occurred in Viterbo in 2021. Both were immediately reached by the police who, at the end of the rite, they transferred them to the “Nicandro Izzo” prison in Viterbo.
Finally, on April 20th the Prohibition of Approach provision was notified against a man held responsible for mistreatment of his ex-partner. Specifically, as part of an investigative activity coordinated by the Viterbo Public Prosecutor’s Office, the subject was charged with an episode of aggression in which he caused the victim to fracture a finger.
