TRENT. New coup scored by the “task force” set up by the Trento Carabinieri to combat “street” crime in an increasingly incisive way in the most “sensitive” areas of the city centre. In particular, on the evening of Tuesday 23 April, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile section of the Trento Company arrested a Tunisian citizen in his late thirties, effectively homeless in Italy and with a criminal record, following a targeted check conducted in Piazza della Portela.
The military, in fact, attracted by the man’s suspicious attitude, after following him for a short distance in his movements, decided to proceed with his identification. During this phase, however, the arrested person began to move his mouth in a “strange” way, as if he was trying to force himself to quickly swallow something. At this point, after immobilizing him, the military discovered that inside the oral cavity the subject was “guarding” 8 doses of cocaine that he had just tried to ingest – without success – in order to avoid having them found by the police .
The subsequent personal search therefore allowed the discovery of almost 400 euros in banknotes of various denominations, as probable proceeds from the previous drug dealing activity.
