The Financial Police found «a wooden embankment containment, created with the use of railway sleepers» whose use «is prohibited in areas of this type»
«A wooden embankment containment was detected, created with the use of railway sleepers constituting dangerous waste, the use of which, even if subjected to a reclamation process, is prohibited in areas of this type, given the high danger for the environment and human health”. For these reasons, the Economic-Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza placed a part of the play area near the parish area in the Le Vieux hamlet of Arnad under evidential seizure.
Hazardous material at the children’s park
The evidentiary seizure was triggered on the hypothesis of environmental pollution. The control was triggered as part of the environmental protection services carried out by the Guardia di Finanza.
The area is used as a recreational park for children. The area was therefore delimited by the financiers. The seized area was released into judicial custody to the mayor of Arnad. The municipality is in fact the body responsible for managing the area.
