“Four and a half years, very dense and intense. I remember arriving in the difficult period with the Covid. We have gone through various emergencies: the Ukrainians, the Afghans, the recovery from the pandemic, the economic recovery. Many concrete operations, agreements on safety in the workplace, on violence against women, for young people, with the presence also of the press, which has always been, I must say, a very important interlocutor. But I believe that three things summarize what I wanted to implement to achieve the objectives of a prefect: the connection between the territorial levels, the coordination with the police forces and the institutions and legality. This was implemented through being together, proximity, therefore closeness to the territory, and through an approach of dialogue and listening with associations, people and with great attention also to the attempts of organized crime to interfere and attack a fundamentally healthy territory, both in terms of businesses and administrations. We worked hard and a series of results were seen.

and with a Hirpinia station that becomes closer and closer. I leave a good team in the prefecture, we experienced unforgettable moments. It is an experience that has enriched me a lot; I believe I am leaving not only a territory but also many friendly people and the trace of an effort to protect a community that is deeply dear to me, to which I have truly dedicated my heart and which I will carry with me throughout the rest of my journey, which will be new but precisely because it moves on assets confiscated from crime, I believe it will allow us to maintain a relationship with this territory.
One of the most beautiful experiences was when I went to the stadium where, thanks to an activity we carried out in agreement with the police, we saw women from a cooperative, victims of violence, who were working. So, a life perspective. I invite young people to stay here, there are many opportunities and resources and an excellent school. There are opportunities for development, to raise a family in an extraordinary territory and to combat depopulation and the birth rate, which are perhaps among the most dramatic issues we are facing. I believe that with trust, respect for the rules and passion for this area, a lot can be done.”

Among the things that the prefect Spena leaves, there is also that of a municipality without a mayor: “I find it very important that, in this context which is certainly worrying, there will be elections soon. This allows the citizens, on the basis of the candidates, to be able to immediately make a choice and rely on those who deem worthy of their consideration. My appeal is to go and vote for this Municipality, to vote in general because it is a right that must be exercised Avellino residents will certainly find a representation of their needs, which will be consistent with this territory which deserves to move forward. Autism Center: only regret
The only regret for Prefect Spena is that of the Autism Centre. “I leave with the regret of not having attended the opening of the centre. I held many meetings and tried to bring together two positions which, for legitimate reasons, then maintained their approach. I am convinced that whoever takes over the leadership of the Municipality will have this aspect is among the priority objectives, because it is truly a shame that a need that has been going on for almost twenty years and to which I have been committed is almost not realized, I am sure that those who come after me will also be committed because the answer to the vulnerable groups is part of our DNA and must find concrete application. We must not give up, even if the objective has not yet been achieved. I hope that this will lead to a solution.
