Reggio Calabria, 25th ‘Anassilaos San Giorgio-Don Nuccio Santoro Award’

It will be held on Friday April 26 at 5.00 pm in the Sala Federica Monteleone del Regional Council of Calabria the 25th edition of the Anassilaos San Giorgio/Don Nuccio Santoro Award”.

Born in the year 1999at the suggestion of the then Mayor of the City Prof. Italo Falcomatà, also in agreement with the Parish of San Giorgio al Corso and its parish priest, Don Nuccio Santoro, on the occasion of the Feast of San Giorgio Martire, Patron Saint of our City, the award was intended as a tribute to the “Urbs Regina” and to those Bodies, Cultural Institutions, Professional Orders, Associations, personalities and citizens operating in the City and in the Province. Even when, subsequently, the Municipality of Reggio Calabria promoted the San Giorgino d’Oro, the initiative of the Anassilaos Association continued, year after year, syndicate after syndicate, to complement that of the Institution.

Since 2019 the Award takes place without the presence of Don Santoro, who has always committed himself to making the people of Reggio know and love their Patron Saint, “Athlete of Christ” and since then the award has taken on the name of “Anassilaos San Giorgio Award” Antonio Santoro”.
