conference of the CISL Cuneo School in Fossano – Targatocn.it

Yesterday, Tuesday 23 April, at the IIS Vallauri in Fossano, the CISL Scuola Cuneo and Irsef-Irfed organized an important conference in which they reflected on the school-family relationship in the fiftieth of the delegated decrees which, in the 1970s with the institution of the collegial bodies paved the way for the idea of a participatory type of school as an “educational and democratic community”.

The title of the conference “school-family divorce fifty years after the establishment of collegial bodies” was inspired by a writing by Emidio Pichelan present at the speakers’ table. A round table where trade unionists, teachers, trainers and administrators exchanged ideas.

At the beginning of the conference, after the initial greetings, Claudia Zanella, general secretary of CISL Scuola, spoke with Pichelan himself, teacher, historian and “volcanic” CISL trade unionist and trainer of the Study Centre.

The conference then continued with the round table moderated by Rocco Zagaria, of the CISL Piedmont press office, in which the following spoke: Roberto Buongarzone (Coordinator of CISL School Directors Cuneo School), Davide Sannazzaro (Provincial Councilor for school policies and social cohesion) as well as Claudia Zanella and Pichelan.

The report on the theme “Participation matters: the renewal of the Superior Council of Public Education” was entrusted to Maria Grazia Pennageneral secretary of CISL Piedmont School

The conclusions of the conference were by Enrico Solavagione, general secretary of CISL Cuneo: “Participation and social cohesion: a look at the future”.

Solavagione “touched” many points that the Italian School is addressing: The school system it is a complex organism, in which critical issues are sometimes addressed from above with superficial recipes. A school that in recent years has also been weakened due to the pandemic and an undue comparison with parents and students.

The school must have the strength to make the problems of the profession known to the outside world: from stress from related work, from workloads to unsatisfactory salaries.

A situation that also “undermines” those teachers who work on their training every day, putting in their time and resources. As Freud said, teaching is one of those three almost impossible professions such as psychoanalyzing, governing and educating. Too often teachers feel isolated, overwhelmed by bureaucratic obligations, problems and daily practices that take away energy that should instead be directed towards pedagogical actions.

The action of the CISL is constant, we believe in participation as highlighted in the popular initiative law proposal”.

In closing his speech, the Secretary wished a happy 25th April, a Liberation Day that must unite everyone as well as inviting the audience to participate in the demonstration on 1st May which will be held in Cuneo.

At the end of the conference, there was no lack of declaration of Claudia Zanella General Secretary CISL Cuneo School. “With this initiative we have remembered the founding moments in the history of our school and critically analyzed the difficulties of the present and the challenges that the future poses for us. Challenges that must be faced with team spirit, unity and unity of purpose.”
