Supermarkets, distributors and shops open on April 25th in Turin

Tomorrow, Thursday 25 April, Liberation Day, one of the longest long weekends of the year will begin for the lucky ones. In Turin, however, in terms of services, it will seem like any other day, or at least comparable to any Sunday in April. Let’s start with those who intend to do the shopping.

Supermarkets and shopping centers

As always happens during holidays and long weekends, there is no general rule for the opening of supermarkets and shopping centers on public holidays. Some will follow the normal timetable, while others will keep the shutters down or follow a halfway solution, i.e. a reduced timetable. The Esselunga in Porta Nuova, for example, remains open from 8am to 8pm, while the Coop in Corso Belgio will only be available to customers from 9am to 12.30pm. The Pam in via XX will welcome customers from 9am to 9pm.

Carrefour is also open in many cases, but the site is not very updated on the details of the opening times in the various supermarkets. A generic message appears: «

The same goes for Lidl, which on paper will not close during the holiday. The covered market of Porta Palazzo will remain closed, unlike Central Market (open from 8am to 11pm).

If, however, you want to use the day for shopping, several shops will remain open, especially in the centre, ready to intercept the flow of tourists arriving in the city until Sunday.

Public transport

And the means? Gtt let it be known that tomorrow the service will be that of a normal public holiday, as if it were a Sunday. Translated: reduced frequency but guaranteed trips to every corner of the city. If anything, the alarm is for the following day, Friday 26 April, given that the general transport strike called by the Confail Faisa union for 4 hours could also affect Turin, but GTT has not yet resolved the doubts. However, trains will not be affected.

Distributors

All closed however petrol stations, given that no special ordinance has arrived from the Municipality. But the systems, however, will guarantee the classic self-service.
