The income of the people of Cremona is among the lowest in the region

CREMONA – Per capita income in the province of Cremona grows by 7%going from 20,222 to 21,629 euros, but it remains among the lowest in Lombardy: the regional average, increasing by 4.7%, stands at 27,890 euros. Not only: the Cremonese figure is also lower than the national one, which reaches 23,650 euros thanks to a growth of 4.9%. The placement of the typical Cremonese citizen in the medium-low income bracket is certified by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which in the last few hours has released the report on the Irpef and VAT declarations presented last year and relating to the year of ‘tax 2022. Lombardy confirms itself as the region with the highest overall average income, while Calabria is at the bottom of the ranking with 17,160 euros. «Therefore, the distance between the average income of the central-northern regions and that of the southern regions continues to be significant – underlines the MEF» (click here for all the data).

THE MUNICIPAL DETAIL

In the context of the very rich Lombardy, among the capital cities the gold medal goes to the ‘capital’ Milan with 35,982 euros. A value very distant from the income levels of the main centers of the Cremona area. The concentration of income in the municipalities of the province of Cremona presents an uneven distribution. The citizens of Crema are confirmed at the top, with 26,882 euros of average declared revenue: a lackluster record, however, since it is below the regional average value. Second place in the provincial ranking goes to another Crema municipality, the tiny one Torlino Vimercati (just 450 inhabitants), which reaches 26,204 euros. Third step of the podium for capital city, with a per capita income of almost 26 thousand euros. The top positions also include two countries on the outskirts of Cremona such as Malagnino (25,726 euros) e Bonemerse (25,070). However, there are 14 municipalities that do not reach the 20 thousand euro threshold: Torre de’ Picenardi (19,952), Scandolara Ravara (19,831), Robecco d’Oglio (19,801), Scandolara Ripa d’Oglio (19,790), Volongo (19,497), Sigh (19,463), Calvatone (19.337), Ostiano (19,330), Pessina Cremonese (19.316), Voltid (19,298), Torricella del Pizzo (19.029), Spineda (19.013), Chapel of the Picenardi (18,935) and — last in the ranking — Cingia de’ Botti (18,272). Between the frontrunner and the last one the gap is 8,610 euros, with a gap of 32%.

THE THREE DISTRICTS

The western portion of the province is confirmed as the wealthiestso much so that none of the Crema centers are present in the range below 20 thousand euros. Casalasco, on the other hand, has the largest number of municipalities that occupy the rearguard positions in the territorial ranking. In essence, the levels of wealth progressively attenuate moving from West to East on the geographical map of the province. And the decreasing trajectory of the average overall income is confirmed by the numbers that characterize the capitals of the three districts: Cream is approaching 27 thousand euros per capita with an increase of 2.6%, Cremona it is a step from 26 thousand euros due to an income jump of 6.1%, Casalmaggiore fails to reach the threshold of 22 thousand euros despite an increase of 2.7%. The figures, certainly not very exciting, should not, however, be alarming: just think that capital cities such as Brescia, Verona, Turin and Reggio Emilia are in the income range between 25 thousand and 26 thousand euros per capita.
