It goes to Netafim Bogliasco 1951 game 1 of the playout semi-finals of the women’s Serie A1. In the first match of the play-off derby with Locatelli, the Bogliaschines made their home advantage count by beating the Genoese 15-9 at Vassallo.
THE NEWS – Locatelli started strong, surprising Bogliasco and opening the match with a sensational 3-0 in the first minutes, also favored thanks to two penalties missed by the white and blues. The shock start, however, does not discourage Mario Sinatra’s girls who, dragged by captain Giulia Millo and his deputy Rosa Rogondino, begin a slow but inexorable rise that sees them arrive at the changeover three goals up after having closed the first set down of two. Despite the 6-1 conceded in the second half and a goal to be seen and reviewed by Paola Di Maria, following a wonderful assist from Marta Carpaneto, conceded one second before the changeover siren, Locatelli tries to hold on to the challenge. However, the guests never managed to close their gap to less than two goals. And so Bogliasco, once the opponents’ outburst had passed, took advantage of the opportunity to further increase their tally, reaching the final minutes without worrying about the result. In the final minute, with the result now in the safe, there is still time among the hosts’ ranks to give space to the 2009 class Giulia De Capitani and Benedetta Bo, the latter being yet another girl from the biancazzurri academy to make her debut this year in A1.
COMMENTS – Today’s success allows Bogliasco to go to Sciorba on Tuesday, at the home of their rivals, to play for the first match point of the series. In the event of a further victory, in fact, Sinatra’s girls would stay in A1 without the need for further appeals. “In the playoffs and playouts, the first match is always the most difficult – states the biancazzurro coach – Perhaps this is also why we started a little tight. As the minutes passed, however, we loosened up and finally played the way we wanted. I’m happy with the performance and even more with the result.
