From 27 April to 5 May 2024, the International Kite Festival returns to the beach of Margherita di Savoia, now in its tenth edition, organized by the Asba-Association of local beach establishments, with the patronage of the Puglia Region and the Municipality of Margherita di Savoy.
The Kite Festival is a important tourist event for the Bat province and Puglia. It brings attention back to the seafood product, placing it alongside the cultural product, but it also has the ability to create tourist incoming and deseasonalize the flows. Its rich calendar constitutes a prime opportunity for the programming of the seafood multi-product. In fact, numerous activities and initiatives are proposed: tasting of typical products, exhibitions and kite-making workshops for primary schools, aimed at developing adequate environmental education, meetings on peace issues and musical events.
On April 27th the “Flying Goblets” initiative will take place with a food and wine tasting tour of Apulian wines and products and on May 4th the VII Cuttlefish Festival, a typical fish product of the Gulf of Manfredonia.
32 delegations of kite flyers will participate in the X International Kite Festival, 14 of which will come from abroad, in particular from France, Austria, Germany, England, China, Turkey, Indonesia and Singapore. A delegation from Thailand is also planned for next year, already visiting this edition.
